The RolexDatejust

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust is the modern archetype of the classic watch, thanks to aesthetics and functions that transcend changes in fashion.

Launched in 1945 it was the first wrist watch with an automatically changing date function. The Datejust has spanned eras, while retaining the enduring codes that make it, notably in its traditional versions, one of the most recognised and recognisable of watches.

Over the years the Datejust has gone through subtle improvements, in 2009, at a larger 41mm in size, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust II was released and in 2016, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41 was released. The watch is press features whilst remaining true to its original design. It is offered with two classic Rolex bracelets: The Jubilee and the Oyster. The original Datejust was launched with a case size of 36mm. Later, however, ladies’ and mid-sized versions became available and is now so in 28mm, 31mm, 34mm and 41mm. ented on stainless steel, and two-tone stainless steel and gold bracelets.

The 2016 41mm Datejust is on an oyster or jubilee bracelet. While the Datejust 41 has a similar-sized 41mm diameter case as the Datejust II, the Datejust 41 has smaller indexes and a thinner bezel. Rolex connoisseurs believe that Datejust 41 has created a more elegant, proportionate, and traditional appearance. something they thought Datejust II arguably failed to evolve from the original classic. Rolex still advertises the current 36mm Datejust as a men’s watch and many purists believe it is the standard and indeed shall always remain the classic Rolex. A firm favourite among Presidents and men and women in power over the years.   We carry a vast range of the Rolex Datejust. Please contact us with any questions.
